Want to learn to read, or improve your reading skills?

RC Reads is a group of passionate volunteers, committed to giving every adult in Rutherford County the opportunity to improve their reading skills, with free tutoring.

Here’s how this works:

  1. Submit your name and contact information. This information is not shared outside of our committee members.
  2. You will be contact by one of our student coordinators. They have been trained to connect with each student, and to go through an evaluation to determine what types of training and assistance the student needs.
  3. Once the evaluation is complete, the student coordinator will connect you with, and introduce you to, your assigned tutor.
  4. You and the tutor will meet in a convenient public location, typically once or twice per week, depending on your schedules.

To get started, you can call the library 828-287-6117, stop by any of the county libraries and talk to the staff, or fill out the form on this page.
